What an AMAZING day at the ILMEA District 3 Festival!
Iroquois West had 10 student musicians representing today in the D3 Junior Chorus (7th/8th grade) and D3 Senior Chorus (high school). The students were selected based on vocal auditions out of pools of over 600 students combined.
Middle School singers were Shelby Chamness, Sydney Haase, Corbin Rosenboom, Samantha Smith, and Piper Tippie.
High School singers were Wesley Connor, Alia DeVous, Addison Dietz, Paige Miller, and Bryce Rogers.
Thank you to everyone who helps pull this event together - it’s a great day of music making these kids will reflect on forever!

Our FFA meeting was packed with energy, laughter, and teamwork from start to finish! Members kicked things off with a traditional meeting that got everyone talking and connecting. We dove into some dodgeball that showcased our fun and competitive side. Whether it was group challenges, planning upcoming events, or celebrating member of the month, everyone brought great spirit and enthusiasm. By the end of the meeting, we announced Ayla Nichols as member of the month. Our next chapter meeting will be December 22, so plan to attend and don’t forget your Christmas cheer!

The IWHS National Honor Society Induction, sponsored by the Onarga Lions Club for the 65th year, was held tonight. Six new members were inducted. Congrats to Madi, Ashton, Kaia, Trenton, Drew, and Kailey!
Lion Brian Pree opened the ceremony by leading the group in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Adviser Jillian King welcomed the guests. Historian, Gretchen Willms, shared the many ways the chapter has been of service to the community over the past year. The chapter’s officers spoke about the organization’s four pillars (scholarship, leadership, service, and character) during a candlelighting ceremony.
Superintendent Trent Eshleman was the guest speaker. He encouraged the students to live with resilience, develop strong relationships, and “own it!”
New members received their certificates from IWHS Principal Heather Giles.
The Onarga Lions provided refreshments for all guests and personalized sugar cookies for the NHS Members.
